You may be aware that a Last Post Ceremony is held at the Australian War Memorial at the end of each day, at which the story behind one of the more than 102,000 names on the Roll of Honour is told.

This includes all wars.

I am pleased to advise that, on Thursday 29th March 2018, Sgt Albert Levy M.M., of the 39th Battalion, will be featured.

Albert was killed in battle in France on 29th March 1918, so he will be honoured on the centenary of his death, to the day.

Several members of his extended family plan to attend the Ceremony to lay wreaths. Plans are to inform the Canberra Jewish Community, the Jewish members of the Australian Parliament of the event, and current Jewish chaplains.

The Last Post service is broadcast live daily at 4:55pm daily via the Australian War memorial website, and its Youtube channel.
The link will be posted when it becomes available.

If you are in or near Canberra at the time it may be interesting to attend. Entry is free.
