39th Association – Committee

This page provides the links to let you discover who are the members of the Executive Committee of the 39th Battalion Association; and, how to contact them should you wish to do so. It also allows you to download an Application of Membership of the Association.

The Veterans of the Association are very pleased to welcome membership of those who did not serve in the 39th Battalion but have a common interest with us.

Membership costs $20.00 per annum ($30 if you wish to gave your GG posted) plus an initial Joining Fee of $15.00 which includes the cost of a name tag (see the Shop for a likeness). All Members have web access to the Association’s newsletter The Good Guts published six times a year and are encouraged to share in various functions held throughout each year.

Merren Stockdale, a Life Member was elected as President in Feb 2017, is the daughter of the late MAJ Noel Hall, and has been on the committee for quite a few years. EMAIL

Karen Owen, was elected to the Committee  to assist her husband, Malcolm, as Assistant Secretary. Email

GG Editor: Mary Holloway, a Life Member, the daughter of  the late Rev Peter Holloway who served in the 39th as a machine gunner, took over editorship from her late father. Send an email to Mary HERE.

Tim Fitzgerald has a keen interest and involvement in the 39th Bn of WWI  Email

John  Redmond, became interested in the stories of the veterans after walking the Kokoda Track,. Ask him here EMAIL

David Howell is our History guru, has an extermely good knowledge of the History of WW2 and also runs his own trekking company,  EMAIL.
